Operator In Touch Games Has License Suspended by UKGC

Former WhichBIngo award winning operator InTouch Games has had its licence suspended with immediate effect by the UK Gambling Commission.

This means that its sites Casino2020, Jammy Monkey, Bonus Boss, Cashmo, mFortune, Dr Slot, Mr Spin, Pocket Win and Slot Factory cannot operate in the UK, at least temporarily.

A message on the sites today reads as follows:

The Gambling Commission is now carrying out a full review of the operation through its powers under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005.

While no specific examples are given, the UKGC statement simply says that “activities may have been carried out contrary to the Act, not in accordance with conditions of their licence and that the Licensee may be unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities. It is suspected the operator failed to follow licence conditions related to money laundering, fair and transparent terms and practices, and reporting key events.”

The UKGC have tasked In Touch Games with treating customers fairly during the course of the suspension by keeping them fully informed of developments that impact them and allowing them to access accounts to withdraw any funds that might be held in them.

Some would say that the operator has had plenty of chances to put its house in order, having suffered a number of fines and penalties over the years – they have paid out over £11m to UKGC since 2019. Most of these penalties related to anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings, i.e., not having sufficient processes and procedures in place to cover the risks involved.

UPDATE 11/9/23

Since the above news broke, UKGC has announce that INTouch Games has subsequently surrendered its UK licence. However, the UKGC may still continue its investigations and may take action against the personal licence holders of the company if necessary.
